Silesian medical university in Shanghai Ranking of the best universities in the world!

Medical University of Silesia in Katowice has once more been listed in a prestigious “Academic Ranking of World Universities”. In this year edition 9 Polish higher education institutions have been included in the ranking.

The methodology of the ranking is based on the following indicators (among others): number of graduates and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, number of highly cited researchers and number of papers published in “Nature” and “Science” magazines.

Medical University of Silesia in Katowice has also been ranked in “Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2019” in the category of clinical medicine. Besides the Silesian university, 5 other Polish universities were included in the ranking.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) was first published in 2003 by Chinese Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Since 2009 it has been published by a company ShanghaiRanking Consultancy which is not subordinated to any universities or government agencies.
